The Earth Element Series (2006) series is in three parts. The first is Paradiso. The discoverers of the New World thought they had found a paradise. Inspired by the deep emotions of the this sense of discovery, these imperial yellow paintings were created to evoke analogous feelings akin to finding heaven on earth. The deep emotions and reverence expressed in this series created the foundation for the next series; Sentinels. Sentinels represent the sheer cliffs of a mountain. They are the guardians. Their size and stark shades of terra cotta portray strength and power. Part three of this series is Canyon which takes you from the majestic Sentinel’s down into the dark interior of the mountain. Here you enter into a spiritual inner realm.
